Marriage
Following Diocesan policy, a six-month preparation period is required for the celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage. During this time, the engaged couple will be asked to complete PREPARE (a relationship survey instrument), attend a Pre-Cana Day or its equivalent, and work with the pastor in preparing the wedding liturgy.
Time for weddings: The wedding party, photographers, florists, etc. must be out of the church by 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. If there is a wedding with the celebration of a Nuptial Mass, it should not begin later than 1:00 p.m. If the wedding is outside of Mass, it should begin no later than 1:30 p.m. Please inform your photographers, florists, etc. of the 3:00 p.m. deadline.
Flowers/decorations are welcome! No floral arrangements or other decorations may be placed on the altar. Candelabra in the sanctuary (altar area) must have a plastic drop cloth underneath, even if "drip-less" candles are used. All decorations must be removed by 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
Rehearsal is generally held the evening before the ceremony at a time arranged by the couple and the priest witnessing the wedding.
We have a parish organist who may be available to play for your wedding.
Diocesan guidelines call for a $125 fee to the parish. This covers the cost of the preparation/preparation materials provided by the parish and the use and cleaning of the church for the ceremony. This is the expected fee for active, contributing members of the parish and children of active, contributing parishioners. All others are asked to pay a fee of $250.
Please contact the rectory office and pastor at least six months before your possible wedding date.
